Louis Tomlinson Joins ‘The X Factor’ As Judge 8 Years After Auditioning

Would ya look at that, bb Louis Tomlinson‘s career has come full circle as the singer has signed on to be a judge on the next season of UK’s The X Factor eight years after auditioning and it’s so bloody good to have him home, tbh.

The rumour has been kicking around for quite some time now but it’s officially been confirmed via the talent show’s Twitter page.

“After much speculation, we are SO EXCITED to reveal our X Factor 2018 JUDGES!!!! Welcome to the panel @Louis_Tomlinson, @robbiewilliams, Ayda Williams and the one and only, Mr @SimonCowell!”

The 26-year-old joins music mogul Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field, replacing Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh (baiiiiiii).

Tomlinson auditioned for the show back in 2010 and was hand picked by Simon Cowell to be part of the band which went on to become known as One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik.

Not only is he super qualified for the role thanks to his experience as a contestant, but he’s also killed it as a guest judge on the show as well.

Back in 2015, he helped Cowell choose which artists would make it through to the live shows.

In 2016, Tomlinson returned to the show to perform his collaboration with Steve Aoiki ‘Just Hold On’ and dedicated the track to his late mother who had lost her battle with leukemia just days before.

Check out the performance below and I fkn dare you not to cry…

Meanwhile, former bandmate Niall has taken to Twitter to congratulate the lad on his epic new gig.

“Absolutely delighted for ya . Going back home to but as a judge this Time . Huge news!!

Louis’ season of The X Factor will begin airing in the UK in August.
