Celebrity social media is a dangerous game. Every Snapchat, selfie and gram are dissected without relentlessly and one wrong move can unleash the fury of a million fangirls on one unsuspecting account.
So, you’d think after a few years in the game everyone’s favourite Irish heartthrob Niall Horan would realise that he can’t just post a lovely sweet photo with an attractive female and expect to carry on with his life.
Last month the former One Directioner posted what was supposed to be an innocent bday pic with bestie Hailee Steinfeld, but fans were all shook up when Niall very slyly ended the post with a cheeky “Love ya hails”.
Is this like love-love? Or just friend-love? Tbh we were all ready for #Nailee to be a thing.

When asked about the rumours by US Weekly, the 21-year-old singer/actress didn’t exactly shut them down:
I feel so lucky that [my fans] care enough about me to know what I’m doing every second of every day, but I think that sometimes it’s hard for people in general to realize that there are boundaries to a person’s life and personal life.
I do love that I have the opportunity to share with them what I’m comfortable with and they’re there to listen and support me.
Ah well, she didn’t explicitly say no, so maybe there’s hope for Nailee after all.
We can still dream.
