Demi Lovato Asked Survivors Of The Parkland Shooting To Join Her On Stage

The school shootings that recently happened in Florida were despicable, unfair and most importantly, preventable. But some good can come from such an insanely fucked situation, and the world banded around the school that lost 17 students on Valentine‘s Day.

Now, Demi Lovato is doing her best to help the victims by inviting six students from the school to join her on stage in San Diego for the first show on her mammoth world tour.

Julius Castillo, Mackenzie Marie Chapman, Samantha Megan Deitsch, Maia Hebron, Eden Hebron and Sarah Stricker were flown in on a private jet and hopped up on stage to join Demi for a song.

Demi spoke about the “special moment” in a statement:

“Tonight was our first night of the tour and it was incredibly special. I was able to bring out and meet a few of the students that had to experience the shooting in Florida on the 14th. It was such an honor to meet them and hear their courageous stories. I want to make sure their voices are being heard and we can provide them with the mental health and post-trauma care they need.”

She encouraged fans to text donations to the CAST Foundation, an organisation she’s involved with that aims to help with mental health resources.

Demi recently revealed that therapy sessions will be available to anyone that comes to the tour, proving once again that Demi Lovato really is an angel sent from above.
