5 Seconds Of Summer Become First Aussie Act To Top ARIA Charts Since 2016

5 Seconds Of Summer have claimed the No. 1 spot on the ARIA Charts with their single Youngblood making them the first Aussie act to take the honour since the Veronicas in 2016.

It’s always supremely nice when local talent top the Aussie ARIA Charts AKA the Australian Recording Industry Association Charts. And because timing is being a sweet angel at the present moment, the boys are in town for their Australian and New Zealand tour.

The band scored their first ever No. 1 ranking on the ARIA Charts way back in 2014 with the iconic She Looks Perfect that was a must at 18th birthday bashes. She Looks Perfect sat on the throne for two glorious weeks and cemented the band into fanfics around the world.

5SOS celebrated today’s milestone a few moments ago with a picture of the band and their commemorative plaques:

“WE’RE NUMBER 1 IN AUSTRALIA! Thank you for supporting Youngblood and making us the first Australian act to hit the top spot here since 2016. We’re so glad we get to be here and celebrate with you x”

They all look like grown men now, except for Michael – Michael still looks like a wee cherub.

5SOS have been on a bloody quality run ever since they announced their album, Youngblood, and then sent us into a frenzy with their tour line-up. The boys will also be spicing up The Voice this Sunday with a special guest performance.

If you’ve yet to cop tickets to their local gigs then there might still be some left. General ticket sales kicked off yesterday so get praying.

The tour kicks off August with one show in Auckland and five scattered around Aus:

Tuesday 7th August
Auckland, NZ – Logan Campbell Theatre

Thursday 9th August
Sydney, NSW – Hordern Pavilion

Saturday 11th August
Brisbane, QLD – Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

Monday 13th August
Melbourne, VIC – Festival Hall

Thursday 16th August
Adelaide, SA – Thebarton Theatre

Saturday 18th August
Perth, WA – HBF Stadium

You can suss the tickets via LiveNation HERE.

Suss the stadiums and you’ll know they’re not insanely y’huge but still pretty decent which means optimal photo opportunities and the ability to make legitimate eye-contact which is always a fab thing.
