5SOS Now Have More #1 Albums On The US Chart Than Any Other Aussie Band, Ever

5SOS 5 Seconds of Summer Billboard Chart ARIA Chart Youngblood

Ya Sydney bois 5 Seconds of Summer have done it again, hitting the number one spot on the US Billboard 200 chart with their new album Youngblood.

It’s the third straight time the foursome have sat pretty at the top of the chart, with their self-titled debut album and second record Sounds Good, Feels Good also hitting number one.

It means they have broken a shitload of records, too. Firstly, it makes 5SOS the first Aussie band in history to have three albums go #1 in the US, which is a notoriously tough market to crack. They’re also the only band EVER to have their first three albums debut at #1.

Not only that, but the guys beat out Beyoncé and Jay Z‘s much hyped collaboration album Everything Is Love to take out top spot. Youngblood sold 142,000 units while Everything Is Love managed 123,000.

God, we’re so proud.

i’m not crying you are

Youngblood has also been a success in Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood‘s homeland, and topped Australia’s ARIA chart with the album and the single of the same name. That made them the first Australian act to simultaneously top the ARIA album and single charts since Gotye in 2011.

Right now, you’re killing the game.
