The Eyewatch community of the Inner West Police Area Command warned locals on its Facebook page after chunks of marinated raw chicken laced with “green rat poison” were found in the popular park.

Inner West Council has been notified, with concerned locals hoping for at least some signage to warn of potentially affected areas.

“A total of seven pieces of poisoned chicken were found in the park,” the council said in a statement. “We are asking pet owners to be mindful of  potential bait hazards in parks and notify police immediately if found. ”

Horrific incidents of dog baiting struck parks in both Sydney and Brisbane in August, including Rushcutters Bay Park in Sydney and the New Farm, Teneriffe, and Newstead areas in Brisbane.

Another case was reported in Brisbane after Retreat Doggy Daycare in Bardon found bits of solid rat poison right in front of its property.

In August, Lord mayor Adrian Schrinner announced Brisbane City Council would install hidden cameras in a number of off-leash parks to try and catch the sick fucks who keeps trying to kill dogs.

“We are working with the police here, but what we want the people who are doing this to know is, you will be caught,” Cr Schrinner told reporters.
