Former US Vice President Joe Biden has welcomed a brand new addition to his family – a very good boy by the name of Major, a German shepherd.

Biden and his wife, Jill, had been fostering the beautiful boy for the Delaware Humane Association (DHA) when they decided to make things permanent.

DHA shared the wholesome news on their Facebook page over the weekend along with a statement from the Bidens and their other German shepherd Champ.

“We are so happy to welcome Major to the Biden family, and we are grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their work in finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals,” the family said.

Major was one of six puppies who came into the care of DHA “after being exposed to something toxic in their homes.”

On Facebook, DHA Executive Director Patrick Carroll shared the truly excellent news that all six doggos had found their forever homes.

“We make friends for life at DHA and we know that the bond between humans and their pets is incredibly strong. We have adopted thousands of animals into homes in Delaware, and we are happy to add the Vice President and his family to that list.”

Major looks like a dog from an American 50s family sitcom, he is perfect.

In other pawesome news, if you haven’t gotten around to watching Dogs – the brand new dogumentary on Netflix then I 10/10 recommend it. Not only will it make your body brutally convulse from sob after sob but it’ll also remind you of everything good and pure in this world.

There are six episodes all up – about fifty or so minutes each.
