This Roly-Poly Pup Survived A Bear Attack Thanks To A Protective Portly Tum

Most of us are trying to get our fatty boomba pets to lose a few pounds, but in the case of this roly poly pup – the extra layer of love saved his bloody life.

Meet Frika, a 7kg miniature pinscher from Florida.

Frika came face-to-face with a bear this week, when one entered her owners Alamonte Springs yard and decided Frika would be a delicious snack.

However, Frika was not in the mood to be eaten it seems – and while she did get clawed by the bear, it barely made a dent in her rotund bod.

“The vet said she’s just really hearty. She said the extra layer of fat kept the bear’s claw from tearing out her intestines,” Frika’s owner, Eric Yaughn, told WVSN.

Frika did have to head to the vet’s to get 12 stitches, poor baby, but she’s recovering well and will live on to tell her exciting tale to all her doggo mates.

Just as an FYI, probs not a great idea to use this as a reason to, oh, let your dog become a portly fella. Overweight dogs end up with all these health problems and it’s bad for their lil’ hearts.

Watch Frika being all cute and survivey on the WVSN site here.
