I stumbled across the @trashywashy while scrolling on TikTok and was immediately disgusted, yet intrigued. When I first watched one of Rach’s videos I screamed multiple times, but laughed just as much (my neighbours can vouch for that). It truly was a wild ride.

Rach possibly has one of the strangest jobs I have ever heard of and works at Lice Clinics Australia in Sydney.
Lice Clinics are a lice-killing company that use a a special heat device to kill off lice and their eggs. They then follow up the treatment with a conditioner comb out and topical rinse. Seriously, where were these guys when I had lice in Grade 4???

Rach’s lice videos have attracted a tonne of views on TikTok, averaging over 1 MILLION views per vid!!!! The ASMR pop video has the most views, sitting at a whopping 20.1M views.
Watching these TikToks is like a car crash that you can’t look away from. I am so addicted to these videos, I literally can’t pull myself away.

The videos are super informative and while they are gross, they help remove the stigma around having head lice. Here are some facts that I’ve learnt along the way.
- SUPER LICE EXIST and they are mostly found right here in Australia. They are practically impossible to kill with regular lice treatments.
- Using conditioner and a lice comb is the best way to get rid of head lice.
- Lice prefer clean hair to dirty hair and straight hair to curly hair.
- It is possible and also normal to have lice for YEARS.
- Australia’s climate is the perfect breeding ground for head lice (which, sucks!)
