It’s no secret we’re living in financially trying times, which is perhaps why a bunch of Redditors are revelling in the “rich people things” they’ve tried once and now understand why rich people love it.

The topic was raised on the AskReddit subreddit over the weekend, prompting almost 4,000 replies as users flocked to recount the “rich” things they’ve splashed out on, only to realise why the expensive experiences are kind of worth it.

The top answer, for those wanting to cry in poor, was someone who forked out some dosh for a professional moving service for a relative and discovered that “not having to lift a finger is amazing”.

“That’s when it clicked that this is what it’s like to have real money,” the user wrote, with scores of Redditors recalling a similar experience with moving companies that meant they no longer had to “bribe my friends with a pizza to help me move”.

Another popular answer for a “rich people” thing that's ultimately worth the money was tailored clothing, which one Redditor said, after altering a shirt to just the right size, saw them “spend the next 10 years angry at every unfitted shirt I'd ever owned”.

Elsewhere, Redditors fantasised about the first class or private flights they once took, saying they had “no neck pain and no regret” as they “suddenly understood why people never go back” to coach.

“Had imposter syndrome the entire flight but managed to enjoy the hell out of it,” the high flyer wrote.

Other items on the “rich things” Reddit that also read like my manifesting journal included a spa and massage day, a housekeeper on call, or “f**king off on a boat or plane to wherever the hell on short notice”.

That last one also doubles as what to enter when you submit for your next Annual Leave dates, but perhaps the most relatable reply, especially amid soaring petrol prices and the general cost of life these days, was upvoted over 1,000 times.

“I wouldn't call it like rich rich, but making enough money not to stress out about the monthly bills and enjoy life,” one Redditor wrote. That’s the dream!

It’s not the first time a viral Reddit has concerned itself with such matters, with rich people copping heat on an AskReddit devoted to recalling the most “out of touch thing” they’ve overhead them say.

Let’s not get too swept up in the “rich people” experiences we’re lucky enough to enjoy, otherwise we might become the person who says “money doesn’t buy you happiness”.

Yeah, but it can buy you new shoes, and have you ever seen someone sad in a pair of red bottoms?
