Joe Rogan, a man who inked a Spotify podcast deal with over $100 million USD, reckons that white men are being silenced by “woke culture,” and I have to laugh.

Speaking in a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe told his guest, standup comedian Joe List, that supposed woke culture has gotten *so bad* that if it keeps going, straight white men will be—le gasp—silenced.

“You can never be ‘woke’ enough, that’s the problem,” he began.

“It keeps going further and further and further down the line and if you get to the point where you capitulate, where you agree to all these demands, it’ll eventually get to [the point where] straight white men are not allowed to talk.”

I promise, this next quote is word-for-word, and no, I can’t make sense of it either:

“Because it’s your privilege to express yourself when other people of colour have been silenced throughout history. It’ll be, you’re not allowed to go outside because so many people were imprisoned for so many [years],” Rogan said.

“There’s a lot of people that are taking advantage of this weirdness in our culture and that becomes their thing. Their thing becomes calling people out on their privilege, calling people out on their position.

Yeah, righto.

I—what is this man trying to say? Is he having a stroke? Does he need help? Can somebody translate for us non-far-right men?

The real problem with someone like Joe Rogan isn’t that he isn’t making any logical sense here but that people are listening to him. According to Business Insider, his podcast is downloaded close to 200 million times per month, helping make him the highest-paid podcaster of 2019. Pour one out for humanity, folks.

It’s this same show where Rogan once discouraged his audience to consider the COVID-19 vaccine, and another time laughed at a friend’s grossly boastful story about coercing women into oral sex. Cool!

Needless to say, Joe Rogan has always kind of been a trash bin of a man and his opinions should never be listened to or given clout (IMO), but this one deserves a right old cackle. So much so in fact that it makes the time Miley Cyrus went on his show and absolutely roasted him to his face all the sweeter—I love this song! *Hits repeat*

As RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under judge Rhys Nicholson put it best, whenever you open Spotify and see Joe’s name at the top of the charting podcasts list: “This is what Purgatory looks like.”

Rogan ended his ~dire warning~ for white men by saying: “I’m not joking, it really will get there. It’s crazy.”

Spoiler alert: it won’t.
