Former YouTuber Jenna Marbles, who officially quit the platform and other online spaces in mid-2020 and hasn’t been seen since, is engaged to her longtime partner, Julien Solomita. The announcement was made by Julien on his Twitch stream on Thursday, sending fans into an excited tizzy.
“So I wanted to let y’all know about something,” he said on Thursday’s stream.
“A development, an announcement of sorts. I was thinking of where I want to announce it, and how I want to announce it. Stream is my happy place, so I thought I should announce it here.
“So, a little while ago, I asked Jenna to marry me, and she said yes. So we are engaged.”
When asked exactly when he popped the question, Julien said it was “probably longer ago than you think.”
He also said that he hadn’t said anything sooner because making the announcement was giving him anxiety, until he realised that feeling flipped and he was actually feeling more anxious about not saying anything.
Julien then showed a photo of the ring on Jenna’s hand, which I’m pretty sure is the first we’ve seen of the hugely-popular creator since she quit YouTube and social media back in June last year.
In the video he also showed that Jenna then turned around and bought him his own ring, so that he can enjoy the engagement as well. Oh God my heart, you guys. That’s so god damn CUTE.
So if both Jenna and Julien have their own rings, I’m gonna need to know if Kermit, Marbles, Bunny, and Peach have their own little engagement rings too. Or maybe a nice new jumper? Look this is really just a ploy to see more dog videos so please, Julien, give them to me.
But sure, I’ll just watch this video of three of them in front of the fire again.
Jenna Marbles and Julien have reportedly been together since early 2013, and by mid-2013 she had introduced him in her daily YouTube videos, and he became a recurring feature in her vlogs.
The couple worked together on producing videos and the Jenna & Julien Podcast for seven years, until Jenna decided to leave YouTube after apologising for offensive videos she published between 2011 and 2012.
