Gang Of Youths have announced they’ll be live streaming an upcoming sold out gig straight onto TikTok, and finally I feel like my endless doomscrolling is paying off.
The band’s first headline show in two years is going down at Lafayette in London – and understandably sold out in about five minutes flat – so to celebrate their return to the stage and not let our spirit wane in our assorted lockdowns, the whole thing is going to go live on the band’s TikTok on Sunday night our time.
“We wanted you wonderful people who have supported us to be able to tune in to our first show back, no matter where you live,” the Gangs boys said.
“Hopefully we can do it in person as soon as possible. Keep safe and enjoy the show.”
Thankfully this means we also don’t have to play the game of trying to time it right to get tickets in time, nor do we even have to get out bed if we want to. Hell, you don’t even have to put on pants if you don’t want to – which is something that you definitely can’t do IRL.
The big Gang Of Youths gig is on at a very convenient and nice time of 7pm AEST this Sunday (August 15), which means we don’t have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to watch something happening on the other side of the world.
Honestly there’s really no downside to this that I can see, other than physically not being in the crowd sweating it out and being in the presence of David L’Aupepe‘s illegal hips.
That and it has a set clash with Sunday’s Survivor episode but hey I know what I prefer (it’s definitely dual-screening somehow so I can watch David and JLP at the same time.)
So if you’re keen to fill your cup with some live music, swing on over to Gang Of Youths’ TikTok from 7pm Sunday night and turn your lounge room into a sweaty pit.
