Clifford the dog is getting a creepy-ass CGI reboot and everyone already hates it (including myself).
The teaser went viral yesterday with 23.4k likes on Twitter. However just like with any weird Hollywood CGI reboot, people are horrified by the results.

I mean have we learnt nothing from Cats the movie? Why CGI something to look realistic that’s not meant to be realistic in the first place?
Of course, the Clifford stans have come out of the woodwork to criticise the reboot. Keep in mind most of these people probably haven’t thought about Clifford since they were children, but still act like the reboot is an attack on their soul.
Not even REMOTELY big enough. Look how MASSIVE this animal is…And did they spray paint him? pic.twitter.com/ihHm6Kl0Vb

Ugh, I loved clifford. This is not clifford. His dog house was as big as Emily Elizabeth’s house. Also, should have made Clifford a Pitbull. You had a chance to use Pitbull features that could help break a stigma. But naw. Cash grab for funzies I guess. R. I. P. Clifford.

Some people also reckon Clifford looks like he’s bathed in the blood of his enemies, and now I can’t unsee it.
clifford is already drenched in the blood of his enemies and he isn’t finished. pic.twitter.com/pb4TWe22KV

I don’t know what the hell this is, but I’m terrified.
Just remembered the on-set photos for this where the Clifford puppet looked like it was designed by Eiko Ishioka https://t.co/NkXEL20KQr pic.twitter.com/DRHX4DGfUm

Other people are defending the cursed red-dog reboot, and I mean someone’s gotta play devils advocate right?
He’s a big red dog literally what else could they have done. Also why is everyone getting upset like Clifford is this sacred untouchable thing we all think and care about constantly like it’s not a big deal don’t act like you ever thought of Clifford recently outside of this

To be honest, I don’t have a problem with the dog itself, I have a problem with the actual trailer. Why does it look like a Pedigree ad from 2011?
This is the vibe I’m getting from the trailer.
I for one, welcome our new red-dog overlord.
