There’s a viral TikTok trend where even the botanically-inept can create their own chia seed pieces of art and of course, I had to try it myself.
So what is the chia seed trend? Well it involves adding water to chia seeds and then adding them to the head of a statue. Basically, you’re aiming for the chia seeds to sprout, so you get a beautiful head of green hair. (See: the RuPaul chia seed pet below).

I’ve seen the trend circulating quite a lot now on the video sharing platform, but the TikTok that really caught my eye was one from Australian comedian Christian Hull.
Hull created his very own ‘fuck off’ chia seed wall-art masterpiece and would you believe it? It actually fucking worked.

Immediately after watching the video I raced to my kitchen to pull out the packet of chia seeds I had from making chia seed pudding that one time, and got to work.
I consulted my housemates to figure out what word we should use for our chia seed wall-art, and we decided on ‘bussy’.
What’s a bussy you might ask? Well I’m glad you asked, it means a male pussy – a butt-hole, if you will.

Anyway, long story short: after one week of frantically watering my bussy every day (that’s what she said) I completely forgot about my bussy and he shrivelled up and died.
I mean it’s pretty typical of me to be the complete opposite of a plant mum. The only plant I’ve managed to keep alive is my monstera and even he is barely getting by.
However, I’m sure the majority of people would be more capable of looking after their chia seed creation. So go buy yourself some chia seeds and put a naughty word on your wall.
