Remember when Cardi B denied Jerry Seinfeld a hug to avenge Kesha?? No? Well the internet does, and honestly, this revival is chicken soup for my petty soul.
To give you a recap, Cardi went viral all the way back in 2018 for brutally rejecting Seinfeld on Funny Or Die’s Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis, like Seinfeld rejected Kesha.
If you aren’t familiar with Funny Or Die video segments, basically celebrities are invited to be interviewed by Zach Galifianakis, who just fucking roasts them the entire time. It’s awkward and funny and kinda the same shit most edgy talk shows do, but whatevs.

Anyway, this particular video in question shows Cardi B crashing an interview with Seinfeld. Galifianakis introduces her as his next and “better” guest, and tells Cardi: “You are special, but the most important thing is that you’re relevant.”
The two of them have a fun, wholesome conversation where he gives her a gift for her baby, and when Cardi B leaves she gives Galifianakis a hug – and completely ignores Seinfeld, who literally went up to her with arms wide open. Seinfeld looks super awkward and says: “That was the opposite of what happened with Kesha.” The second hand embarrassment is palpable. Reparations, baby.
Despite the fact that this interview happened in 2018, the video has resurfaced online with people losing their shit over how petty it is. I’m suddenly seeing it everywhere, with heaps of people viewing it for the first time. And honestly? Good. It deserves every click it gets because it’s that iconic.

Before the fun police come to crash this party, yes I know it’s a bit, and obviously scripted. The real question here is, who cares?? The second-hand embarassment I felt from the original video of Kesha getting brutally rejected by Seinfeld still haunts my dreams and if I need to indulge this iconic performance as actual vengeance than I fkn will.
