ZOMG ‘Twittersphere’ Is Now In The Dictionary (NSFW)

You gotta love the Oxford Dictionary boffins and their ability to adapt to new forms of communication.

Not content with having added ‘LOL’, ‘OMG’ and ‘<3’ to their sprawling list of words only a few months ago, those professorial types are keeping up with the times (and their web browsers) with their latest batch of new words that will probably still not get you extra points in Scrabble but will totally work for Words With Friends.

Heading up the list is ‘ZOMG’, which seems a bit superfluous given that its less excitable cousin is already in there, as well as ‘Twittersphere’, ‘lappy’ (translation: ‘laptop’, not what you were thinking) and a longtime Pedestrian lifesaver, ‘NSFW’. Because we put that in the headline, many dudes have probably come here expecting to see uncensored photos of a naked celebrity using social networking. To you we apologise, but if we can still be besties (yep, that also made it in) you can be sure that the next time Blake Lively experiments with her iPhone, we’ll have it to you in no time flat.

In unrelated news, Nabokov just rolled over in his grave.
