Young Lib Wanker / Candidate Is Gunning To Cock-Block All Your Porn, Ironically

A wise, if not crotchety, man once said: “I’m fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there’d only be one website left, and it’d be called ‘Bring Back The Porn.’”

And yet, here we are in the year of our lord two-thousand-and-fifteen and a member of the Liberal Party is pretty keen to do exactly that.
Maroun Dreybi, who has nominated for preselection in the NSW federal seat of Parramatta, is more or less basing his entire pitch to the Liberal party on the platform of putting a giant porn filter over the entirety of Australia’s internet.
The 25-year-old Young Liberal member, and current solicitor for Centurion Lawyers in Parramatta, has stated that the issue is “close to his heart” (and everyone else’s genitals) and would see a National Pornography Filter implemented across the entire Australian network.
Under the proposed filter, users would have to phone their ISP and opt in to having access to your Redtube‘s and the like.
The filter is similar in conception to the one that UK Prime Minister David Cameron pushed through in 2013, but were subsequently ruled absolutely fucking illegal by the European Union towards the end of last year.
Fortunately for all of us, Dreybi’s policy is highly unlikely to be adopted by the Liberal Party writ large, and in fact it’s highly unlikely that he’ll succeed in his bid to be nominated for the seat.
The Daily Telegraph cites a “Liberal party source” who claims that Dreybi’s views were “very shrill,” and that his policy platform is far too thin to make his a serious contender for preselection.

“Outside of pressing on a few religious hot button topics he isn’t bringing much to the table. You have to offer something a bit more mainstream if you want to run for a major party.”

And hey! Because due diligence must be taken when assessing potential political candidates, rather than basing opinions on one lone policy, we feel it important to note here that Dreybi is also profoundly anti-abortion, and would very much like to see funding for the extremely vital procedure removed from Medicare.

“The dignity of human life begins at conception and ends at natural death. As such, it is deplorable that we are annually spending up to $100 million of taxpayer money via Medicare on abortions.”

So there’s that too.

The Liberal Parramatta preselection vote goes down this coming Saturday, April 30th.
Porn is able to be freely accessed as you see fit in this country, should you – a consenting, sound-minded adult – choose to view footage of two naked people boinking.
