YIKES, ‘Love Island’ Star Tayla Damir Gets Stranded In Lebanon After Having Identity Stolen

Love Island star Tayla Damir has just experienced a holiday nightmare while on vacation in Lebanon. The 22-year-old claims she’s been left without money, a phone or a way home after she was a victim of identity theft.

Way back on July 26, Tayla took to Instagram to share that her bank card had been stolen. But since then her situation has gotten much worse.

Her family deposited a sum of money into her bank account to help her out of this dire situation so that she could “pay [her] bills, pay [her] rent and get back to Australia safely” but soon after, the money was gone.

“I got an email saying a suspicious amount has come out of my personal account so I went onto my personal account and all of my money my family had just put in had been wiped.” Tayla said in an Instagram story.

If you’ve ever had your bank account hacked, you’ll know how terrifying it is to know that somebody has access to all of your personal information and there’s honestly not a lot you can do about it. But I imagine it gets approximately 500 times scarier when you’re also alone in a foreign country.

And to make matters worse, she’d also injured her thumb pretty badly. So it’s been a rough week for the Love Island star.

“I was stressed trying to get my stuff and I’ve literally ripped the top of my finger off, so I had to go get that fixed,” she said.

Throughout the video stories it was clear that the poor 22-year-old has been crying. Whether you’re a fan of Love Island or not, this is an absolutely fucked situation to be in and I would be terrified if I were her.

On top of hacking into her bank account, the identity thief also managed to lock her out of her Australian SIM card, and hack her emails. Put simply, Tayla was fucked. Big time.

As anyone in that situation would do, she went to the Australian Embassy. You know, the people in foreign countries that are meant to help you in these exact situations. And according to Tayla, “they have done absolutely nothing.”

“I literally got told as a 22-year-old you are stranded in Lebanon with no money, not our problem, we’ll deal with it in the morning,” Tayla claimed.

The 22-year-old also opened up about “bawling her eyes out” in the Australian Embassy during the ordeal. Girl, wouldn’t we all be crying if this were us? I sure as hell would be.

“It’s so much harder when you’re on the other side of the world with people who don’t speak your language and you’re trying to deal with someone literally stealing your identity.” She said.

Despite the truly fucking terrible situation, Tayla managed to make the most it, sharing the following Instagram post.

Since sharing her story, Tayla said that she has been overwhelmed with support from fans and fellow Aussies who want to get her home safe and sound. Despite it being a really shitty story, it’s nice to know that people will have your back, even if you’re stranded in a foreign country after having your identity stolen.

Tayla has since been able to return to Australia, thankfully! The 22-year-old shared the following photo on Instagram earlier tonight.
