A Bottle Of Vodka Valued At $1.6M Has Been Pinched From A Copenhagen Bar

A bottle of vodka valued at $1.6 million has been pinched from a bar in Copenhagen, sparking a police investigation into the brazen theft.

Danish police were notified after the Russo-Baltique bottle was nicked from the Cafe 33 bar late on Tuesday.

The lavish bottle, reportedly commissioned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of car-maker Russo-Baltique’s factory opening, reportedly contains over 3kg of gold and an equal quantity of silver.

The cap, which emulates Russian imperial eagles, is encrusted with diamonds. The whole thing is apparently made of bullet-proof glass, too. As you do.

The bar, which boasts over 1,200 different bottles and touts itself as Copenhagen’s ‘Vodka Museum’, has also released CCTV footage of the theft.

Authorities said it was unclear whether the assailant broke in or if they had a key to Cafe 33.

Bar owner Brian Ingberg said the very same bottle was used as a prop for in an episode of House Of Cards, and can be seen when the Russian president toasts his American nemesis.

Ingberg said Cafe 33 had borrowed the bottle from a Latvian luxury automobile company, adding “it has been part of my collection for six months, but not any more.”

He added that the bottle was totally uninsured. Here’s hoping that spenno piss makes its way back home.
