World’s Hottest Chili Comes As A Chip So Lethal It Needs Special Packaging

Remember the video of the girls moronically ingesting the Carolina Reaper – the world’s spiciest chili pepper, at 1.57 million Scoville units – and proceeding to scream and weep on-camera for several minutes? Well, here it is if you haven’t:

For reference, the Scoville rating of the humble jalapeño is somewhere between 1,000 – 20,000 Scoville units. Just for scale on that one. Don’t put it in your mouth for YouTube.
But if you’re looking to sample it without actually sourcing the chili itself, you’re in luck: it now comes in tortilla chip form! Hooray! The perfect product for someone who loves Doritos but wishes said Doritos were capable of inducing total digestive failure.
“The Paqui Carolina Reaper chip delivers such a gripping tidal wave of heat that people can only handle one chip,” a Paqui spokesman told TIME, which strikes me as the kind of endorsement which only appeals to crazy people.
You get one chip per pack, wrapped in coffin-like packaging. It costs US$4.99. Here is a video of people trying it:
It’s available HERE if that’s your thing (it shouldn’t be).
