Woolies Has Quickly Pulled ‘If You Don’t Love It, Leave’ Singlets From Shelves

Supermarket giant Woolworths has quickly pulled a line of singlets from shelves that have been labelled as being “divisive” and “racist.”

The singlets were available in two stores, and customers took to social media to vent their displeasure at the offending items. The singlets are blue, and feature the Australian flag with the slogan “If you don’t love it, leave” emblazoned underneath.

Once Woolworths management were made aware of the availability of the items, the company moved quickly to remove them from shelves – stating that they were never ordered, and were delivered to the stores in error.
A spokesperson for Woolworths stated that the singlet was “totally unacceptable.”

It was delivered to us in error and should never been allowed on our shelves. We will review our processes to ensure this sort of error cannot happen again.

As soon as we were made aware we immediately withdrew the product from our shelves. The sentiment expressed on the singlet does not reflect the views of Woolworths. Woolworths has a policy of ‘Doing the Right Thing’ which means we believe in fostering an environment where everyone is treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.
The company confirmed the singlets have been totally removed from shelves in the two stores they appeared in. Internal investigations into how they came to appear in store in the first place is underway.
