An Italian woman living in Scotland has been charged with with assault after ripping a testicle out of her former boyfriend’s scrotum with her teeth.
The woman, 43-year-old Nunzia Del Viscio, carried out the attack last year, reports the BBC. She, her then-boyfriend Mr Palma, and two friends were clubbing in Edinburgh, and when the club closed they all went back to Palma’s house.
Palma told the court that Del Viscio then begun “destroying” one of the two bedrooms. He told her to calm down, but during the argument, she ripped out his left testicle.
He grabbed a towel to try and stop the bleeding, called an ambulance, and was rushed to hospital, where doctors used 15 stitches to put his testicle back in.
Del Visco told the court that Palma had become violent. She said she’d tried to escape the flat but he’d pushed her to the floor and began punching her.
“As he came to me I bit him,” she told the court. “I just remember a noise and blood pouring into my mouth.”
When the police arrived, she had injuries to her eyes and bruising on her face. When asked by the defence lawyer if he’d caused these injuries, Palma admitted that he had, but said that he’d been attempting to stop her biting him.
Del Viscio was ordered to pay Palma £500 ($AU890) in compensation, and had been placed on a restriction of liberty order for six months, meaning she must stay home between 10pm and 6am.
