West Melbourne Council Reclaims Hanson Mural With A Big Ol’ Slab Of White

Only a few days after a mural of the Western Bulldogs mascot whizzing on Pauline Hanson’s vacant mug appeared on a Footscray wall, the Van T Rudd piece has been painted over – well, partially, at least.

Rudd took to social media to share the discovery, saying the erasure of Hanson – and only Hanson – from the huge mural “shows which side” the City of Maribyrnong is on.
A council spokesperson confirmed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that the City of Maribyrnong had painted over the mural after receiving numerous complaints from members of the public.
The image only appeared on the wall this past Friday, with Rudd intending it “to show that racism and extreme right-wing politics won’t be tolerated in Melbourne’s west.”
