Welp, Donald Trump Jr. Has Really Fkn Cooked It This Time, Hasn’t He?

Ahh, Donald Trump Jr. In the grand pantheon of failsons of rich dudes, this Richie Rich-ass loser has to take the cake for the absolute weeniest. And now it looks like he’s one of the biggest threats to his dad’s presidency, too!

The New York Times has been hot on the trail of claims that Trump Jr met with Russian government representatives to receive information about Hillary Clinton. Slimy, sure – but his excuse is pretty decent: he would probably meet with anyone who had damaging info about his opponent, as would everyone in politics.
He said the info went nowhere anyway, so what’s the harm?

But now the NYT has followed up with something a little more damaging. According to their latest report, Trump Jr. was literally told in an email that the info leak was part of a campaign by the Russian government to get his dad elected.

Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email.
The article goes on to clarify that said email did not specify any “wider effort by Moscow to help the Trump campaign” but that it did make clear the particular information on offer was from the Russians. It did not suggest any connection to the now-infamous Democratic National Convention hack.
Alan Futerfas, the lawyer for yung Trump, maintained that his client did nothing wrong.
In my view, this is much ado about nothing. During this busy period, Robert Goldstone contacted Don Jr. in an email and suggested that people had information concerning alleged wrongdoing by Democratic Party front-runner, Hillary Clinton, in her dealings with Russia. Don Jr.’s takeaway from this communication was that someone had information potentially helpful to the campaign and it was coming from someone he knew. Don Jr. had no knowledge as to what specific information, if any, would be discussed.

The response from US media types has been pretty funny.

You’re grounded, dude. Read the full story over at the NY Times HERE.
