Cast your mind back to about 6 or 7 years ago, to a much simpler time on the internet.
The ethical dilemma not of if a cat can has cheezeburger, but whether it should has it was wrinkling many a brain. A sarcastic asshole of an owl was putting the full stop on countless online arguments. People were exchanging picture comments for picture comments, in a fair and equal bartering system the on the line world hasn’t seen since.
But above all that, the entire world was grooving to the funky strains of weirdo news clips that had been fed through a vocoder and turned into auto-tuned jams.
The Gregory Brothers, or ‘Schmoyoho‘ for all you OG YouTube types out there, have long made a name for themselves by auto-tuning the news, viral videos, and just about anything they can get their hands on (including the unquestionably excellent intro theme for ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘).
Thanks to the everlasting glory of Dan McConnell aka the bloke who chased a crim in just his jocks aka the best bloke in Australia, viral autotune gags live to ride again.
The Gregory’s have fed McConnell’s now-legendary TODAY interview through the ole’ tunealizer and spat out a righteous jam of head-bobbing proportions.
Is it on par with classic hits like ‘Bed Intruder‘ or ‘Double Rainbow‘? Probably not.
Does it rock regardless? You bet your fucking ass.
Good luck getting that earworm out of your head for the rest of the day.
