WATCH: Wild Vid Shows Cruise Ship Getting Pummelled By 9 Metre Waves

When you sign up for a cruise, you sign up for three things: gastrointestinal disease, some washed-up club singer doing Jimmy Buffet covers, and guys who look like Michael Bolton hitting on your mum. That’s it. One thing you do not sign up for is ENORMOUS WAVES PUNISHING YOUR BOAT.

But time and time again it seems like your cruise ship tickets, which you foolishly bought on the assumption things would be roughly as stable as they are on dry land, are actually tickets to an expensive ocean hellride. Today’s video, which I bequeath unto you, depicts exactly this.
Colossal nine metre waves repeatedly bashed the Royal Caribbean cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean, whipped up by 193km/h winds. One of the blokes in the vid can be heard to say: “We’re staying in one place hoping not to die”.

Judging by the pics on Twitter, the boat took a bit of a pounding:
No one was seriously hurt, apparently. Ah well. Throw back a couple of piña coladas, you’ll be right.
