WATCH: ‘Wife Swap’ Parody Takes ‘Straya’s Shitty Internet Speeds To Task

The only thing worse than the grossly-outdated, mildly horrifying show that is Wife Swap (woah, easy on the misogyny vibes there guys), is the even more horrifying state of Australia‘s internet speeds, which crawl at such a glacial pace that if you’re reading this article in the month of February in the year 2016, then hey – it’s having a good day.

This v. depresso element of living in Australia – which, quite frankly, they should put on the visa application forms with a “Are you suuure?” – is satirised spectacularly in the Wife Swap parody Wifi Swap, in which two everyday women swap lives, homes, and most importantly, wifi speeds.

“What will happen when their lives and rerouted and disconnected?”
says the voice-over, and quite honestly if whoever wrote that line doesn’t take a dozen bows / snap of the fingers, then what has YouTube comedy writing come to.

In the six-minute web series, Tarryn from Sydney, Australia, swaps places with Christina from NYC, USA, and experiences the dizzying euphoria that comes watching TV hows that don’t buffer, arrive on time, and are always available in your country; Christina loses her fucking mind.

We laugh, but only to hide the pain.
