The new trailed for Captain America: Civil War has dropped, and it features a glimpse of what fans have been thirstily fanging for: everyone’s favourite Marvel hero Spider-Man. Take a look for yourself:
Spider-Man has gotten a raw deal in the Marvel film universe for a little while – his character has been licenced by Sony for a long time, which meant that he could only appear in Sony films and not Marvel Studios ones. So you’ve never seen him alongside Thor or Iron Man before. But thanks to a deal, he’s here for Civil War, and this is your teaser.
Spidey is played by Tom Holland in the film, who is set to keep playing the web-slinger for at least three more films.
The movie follows the arc set by the Civil War comics: the government sets up a body for regulating and controlling superheroes – who, if you haven’t noticed, tend to cause massive damage to government infrastructure when they do what they do – and some of The Avengers are pissed, others less so, and it brings ’em into conflict with one another.
