WATCH: NZ Anchor Live-Crosses To Nude Café, Is Horrified To See Actual Vag

Hey! Aspiring broadcast journos! Here’s a ~hot tip~: even if you think it’s a good idea to live-cross to a nude restaurant, it’s not a good idea to live-cross to a nude restaurant.
The anchor of New Zealand news program Story ran the gauntlet on that one – that is, sending a reporter to cover a night of nude dining at a local Hamilton restaurant – and was forced to make a red-faced apology after a waitress’ gloriously unkempt bush made its on-screen debut with zero warning.
Being live TV and all, there wasn’t any time to either blur or obscure her crotch after she walked in front of the camera, so viewers were treated to their usual 7pm current affairs bulletin with a side of bush.
When reporter Lachlan Forsyth hastily cut back to the studio, all Story co-hosts Duncan Garner and Kim Vinnell could do was gape.

“I can’t believe I saw that,” Garner managed, apologising profusely to those who “saw too much” in light of the totally unexpected incident (A CLOSE-UP OF GENITALIA DURING A SEGMENT ON NUDE DINING?! No one could have predicted it.)
To his credit, Garner at least expressed apprehension about cutting live to the restaurant *before* it happened. “I’m just a little worried, there’s so much that can go wrong,” he said. Still did it tho.
The show’s Facebook page has since become a dumping ground for complaints by viewers whose delicate senses were grossly offended.

At least one person was into it, though.

This morning, Story issued an official written apology:

If you saw last night’s show we’d like to say we’re very sorry the shot in the broadcast from the Hamilton cafe revealed more than we intended,” it read. “It was an accident which we apologised for on air.”

Fairfax has the video, and you can watch it HERE.

Never change, NZ.
