More than 200 people were involved in a mass street brawl in the Sydney CBD in the early hours of this morning, with arrests made and several men expected to face charges.
The brawl occurred at about 3am, and spread across George, Pitt and Central streets, with much of the fight occurring outside the Metro Theatre, which reports say had recently let out.
Per a NSW Police statement, officers were initially called to a licensed venue on Central Street; two men ran from the location on foot, and were pursued by police, later to be detained and released pending further inquiries.
“Additional police from Kings Cross Local Area Command and Surry Hills Local Area Command were called to help disperse several affray incidents involving about 200 people.”
