WATCH: Lady Gaga Reveals She Lives With PTSD In Heartbreaking New Interview

Lady Gaga has taken part in a ‘Share Kindness‘ campaign for morning television show ‘Today’ in the US, where she delivered gifts and bags of supplies to an LGBTQ homeless centre in Brooklyn, New York
The singer chatted to each young LGBTQ people currently being supported by the Ali Forney LGBTQ Centre, and listens to their story about their life and struggles.
“These children are not just homeless or in need. Many of them are trauma survivors. They’ve been rejected in some type of way.

I am no better than any of those kids. And I’m no worse than any of them.

We are equal. We both walk our two feet on the same earth. And we’re in this together.”
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has previously opened up about being a survivor of rape, as well as her own personal experiences living with mental illness.
But after her visit to the LGBTQ centre, Gaga has now further explained her mental illness publicly, revealing on camera that she has PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).
“My own trauma and my life has helped me to understand the trauma of others.

I told the kids today that I suffer from a mental illness. I suffer from PTSD… I’ve never told anyone that before, so here we are.
But the kindness that’s been shown to me by doctors — as well as my family and my friends — it’s really saved my life.

I’ve been searching for ways to heal myself, and I’ve found that kindness is the best way.”

We commend absolutely anyone who takes the oft-scary plunge of speaking out about, or disclosing mental illness or personal trauma – it’s a marker of absolute strength.
As Gaga says,
“You are brave. You are courageous.”
