WATCH: Isabella Manfredi On How Lockouts Are Just The Tip Of Sydney’s Issues

PEDESTRIAN.TV was amongst the estimated 15,000 who turned out to yesterday’s ‘Keep Sydney Open’ rally, along with the likes of The Preatures‘ Isabella Manfredi, Nina Las Vegas, The Faders DJs, Danny Lim, Dave Faulkner from the Hoodoo GurusBernard KeaneArt vs Science and Royal Headache

Kicking off at Belmore Park in Surry Hills, punters from all corners – including Boomers and kidlets – snaked up Elizabeth St with signs and placards (arguably the best / worst of the day: “Cut shapes not culture”), before ending up in Hyde Park for a series of performances and speeches that skewered the devastating effect of the lockout laws on the city’s vibrancy.

The standout, for us, was Izzi’s speech: it was well-thought out and well-spoken, a killer combination. She also didn’t look down at her notes once, so you know that shiz came straight from the heart.

They [the NSW Government] took a whole lot of different venues, small businesses, and entrepreneurs both young and old, and lumped them into a group, altogether under one blanket culture. And they call that culture anti-social,” she said.

We also grabbed a min with her post-rally, where she explained to us why the lockouts are just the start of Sydney’s problems *gulps*.

As well as Izzi, AVS, Danny and ‘Keep Sydney Open’ Founder Tyson Koh, P.TV chewed the fat with a bunch of you good people – who, despite pouring rain at one point, stuck it out to have your say.
