WATCH: Huge Crowd Chants Philando Castile’s Name At US Governor’s Mansion

Hours after Minnesota man Philando Castile was shot dead by a police officer during a traffic stop, a large group of demonstrators have gathered outside the home of the state’s governor in a display of anger and disbelief: disbelief that another black man has been killed by US law enforcement for seemingly no reason.

Chanting Castile’s name, the crowd outside governor Mark Dayton’s residence represents only a small sliver of the indignation the shooting has caused in the broader community, after the horrific video of the shooting’s aftermath went viral.

Chants of “no justice, no peace, prosecute the police” have also rung out from the crowd.

Others spread police tape over the entrance to the mansion, while more surrounded the “official” police tape at the scene in Falcon Heights.

Castile’s death comes less than a day after the police shooting death of Louisiana man Alton Sterling; in that footage, police appeared to shoot Sterling while he was already pinned to the ground.

We’ll update this story as it develops.
