The cast of ‘Game of Thrones’ might have upset everyone with the atrociously heart-wrenching trailer for season six, but now, they’d like to talk about an issue even more atrocious and heartbreaking – and this one is completely real.
A bunch of GoT cast members have joined forces with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in order to raise awareness and begin a donation campaign for displaced refugees who have fled the current conflict in Syria.
The website reads as follows:
“THIS IS THE STORY THAT MATTERS:Across the globe, record millions of people are being forced by violent conflict to flee their homes. These refugee families—children, women and men—are struggling to survive and recover.
But they should not struggle alone. Now more than ever, it is critical that we come together to help.”
The IRC website shares the following reasons for the campaign, and the numbers are pretty staggering: approximately 50 Syrian families are forced to flee their homes every hour of every day, and so far only 17,000 of the 4 million refugees have been resettled in other countries.
It’s a pretty important thing to comprehend, especially when our government are actively and inhumanely imprisoning or turning away the people who are merely attempting to save their and their families lives.

Oh, and if you’d like to stop yourself from involuntarily smashing your head against the nearest available hard surface in frustration, try to avoid reading the comments on the Youtube video. Man, some people are just the worst.
