Probably the worst risk you take going on a show like ‘America’s Got Talent‘ is that you’ll be absolutely mortified when it turns out that you actually can’t sing or that people over the age of 5 hate magic.
Occasionally though, someone trying to juggle chainsaws or swallows motorbikes or whatever will fuck up, providing probably the best entertainment you can ever get out of those terrible talent shows (note: we do not endorse people getting injured).
Canadian stuntperson Ryan Stock went on the show with a pretty gutsy act: having a flaming arrow fired from a crossbow at a target held in his mouth. All the more gutsy given that it was apparently pretty likely that that arrow would end up getting him right in the neck – because it did.
The judges appear astonished and Stock appears apparently pretty unharmed, which made me briefly outraged that they weren’t using real, entirely deadly arrows, before I quickly realised that that’s an insane person thing to think.
