WATCH: Doggo Rescued From Italian Earthquake Rubble Reunites With Owners

As it stands, 295 people have died as a result of the magnitude 6.2 earthquake which struck the Italian city of Amatrice late last month. Many more are missing. Even more have been left homeless by the devastating quake.

That is to say the effects of the disaster will be felt for a long, long time. Yet, ten days after it hit, rescuers have uncovered some small sliver of positivity: a live dog, buried under rubble.

Video footage shows rescuers excavate the pup – named Romeo, bless – before letting getting him some water and watching him wander around to receive many well-deserved pats.

Even better: his owners, who escaped from the second floor of the building on the night of the quake, were the ones who prompted the barking which alerted rescuers.

You can see ’em in the video above wearing civilian clothes, obviously stoked their pup persevered. And, tbh, we’re just happy their furry friend made it through, too.

Good boy. Good boy indeed.
