Fidel Castro was a pretty divisive figure. Sure, the bloke was instrumental in overthrowing a brutal Cuban regime, but his tenure as leader of the nation’s (one and only) Communist party wasn’t entirely swell for the island either.
Now, after the revolutionary figure’s death at the age of 90, Cubans who left Castro’s nation for the United States are celebrating his death.
Footage from Miami – itself only a few hundred kilometres from the Central American nation – shows the city’s Cuban-American community rallying in the streets to commemorate his passing.

You can expect the think pieces to start rolling out pretty soon – the post-mortem takes on Castro have probably been a looong time coming – but at least one Cuban enclave is excited at the prospect of a future without him.
