WATCH: Chris Pyne & Greg Sheridan Stand Up For Same-Sex Marriage On Q&A

The same-sex marriage debate tends to always light up Q&A on a Monday night, but because it’s 2016 we’re seeing less and less opposition on the panel and in the audience.
On last night’s show, a self-identified Christian stood up and asked whether proposed same-sex marriage laws would destroy ‘traditional marriage’ and compel priests to perform same-sex ceremonies against their wishes. Innovation & Science Minister Christopher Pyne, a same-sex marriage supporter in the Coalition, rubbished the notion.
But more interestingly, Catholic warrior and longtime Tony Abbott friend Greg Sheridan confirmed that he “no longer” sees any point in banning same-sex marriage.

Marriage Equality

Q&A HighlightChristopher Pyne believes children in same-sex families should have legal certainty. Greg Sheridan, a staunch Catholic, has shifted his views on Marriage Equality.

Even among the conservative elite there’s less of an appetite to oppose reform.
But, you know, while the blokes were agonising over the shape and content of legal reform, British comedian and satirist Sameena Zehra was a little bit more brutal – attacking Australia for being backwards on the issue and grilling the commentator over what “traditional marriage” even means.
It’s gonna be a loooooooong few months till the plebiscite.
