Jesus-fucking-christ. Two Sydney mates came face-to-face with their own death over the weekend, after they just missed being struck by lightening.
The pair were in their boat shed in Oyster Bay (AS YOU DO DURING A LIGHTNING STORM HEY), and had just sensibly decided *not* to take the boat out when lightning struck the water mere metres away.
Luckily, for the perverse pleasure of us all, they managed to capture the near death experience on film.
Chills or what.
It was just one strike in an absolute battering Sydney took over the weekend, which started with the mother of all lightning strikes on Friday, and ended with more than 50,000 homes and businesses left without power. Crossing fingers next w/e gives us something a little better.
