Watch: Adrien Brody & Christina Hendricks In ‘Detachment’ Trailer

Detachment is directed by Tony Kaye, the same man who scared the living hell out of Americans (and the world) with American History X, and this time he’s focused on troubled kids and their equally screwed-up teachers.

The film follows the life of mysterious substitute teacher Adrien Brody and his interaction with his students, the people around him and other educators (Christina Hendricks, Lucy Liu) who are stretched beyond their limits. It’s already won a swag of critical awards and selections at film festivals across the world, and just this trailer, subtitled in French, no less, will make you shiver. They’re calling it Brody’s best performance since The Pianist, so see what the fuss is all about.
