Watch A Trailer For The Epic, Delightfully Twee Wes Anderson Book

Cuss yeah, this epic twee indulgence that is the Wes Anderson coffee table work of art book looks incredible.

A confessed “20 years in the making” writer and critic Matt Zoller Seitz fawns over Anderson with disarming flattery: “I love Wes’ style. I think if he were a writer he’d be like a Hemingway who doesn’t use a lot of adjectives.” Staying true to its cinematic muse, the trailer for the hefty-looking Wes Anderson Collection begins with an iconic overhead book-opening shot in a nod to The Royal Tenebaums, scatters capitalized yellow Futura type everywhere, has a charming narrator, a transcendent doll’s house set and tributes Moonrise Kingdom with a series of binocular-framed shots.

An extended, exclusive interview drives the book, described as, “we talk about his evolution as an artist, and we move from year to year,
in its development, and it’s almost like we’re moving through his
filmography, almost like it’s moving from room to room in one of those
doll house shots you see in one of his movies.
” Gorgeous illustrations by Max Dalton make The Wes Anderson Collection really special, and as Matt Seitz says, “Detail-obsessed fetishists will really dig this book“.

Finding out this book exists has been bittersweet, because until it arrives, life seems comparatively dull. Exactly my point, Max.
