WATCH: A Pilot Nearly Got Decapitated By A Plane Wing & We Are Fkn Gasping

JESUS H. CHRIST.
Footage has emerged of a pilot who is, without a doubt, insanely lucky to be alive. Like, it’s a miracle. The man might be immortal or some shit.
The accident happened during a final in the National Championships Air Races in Reno, Nevada – a pilot called Thom Richard, who flies an F1 racer called ‘Hot Stuff‘, was waiting for his turn when a competitor took off despite their red flag being up.
Just before the collision, Richard lifts his canopy up – his engine was not running properly, and lifting one’s canopy means you are signalling you’re forfeiting the race.
The racer gets hit by the wing of his competitors plane, and had his head been slightly above where it was, he would deeeeefinitely be dead.
While his head was protected by the plane, his raised right arm was not – Richard doesn’t specify his injury, only saying in the video description that his hand was ‘busted up’.
There’s some terse words at the end, but fucking hell – wouldn’t you be swearing like a sailor too? Despite the massive shock though, Richard still asks if the other pilot was okay (he’s fine, didn’t have a scratch on him).
But Richard concludes his story by saying this:
“I’m not the slightest bit upset over the accident. I, in fact, consider myself a very lucky man.

Another four feet to the left and I would have been minced meat. Literally dodging a bullet. A busted up hand is a small price to pay. I’ll take it. It’ll heal. Though it is difficult to type one-handed.”

We are shook. SHOOK.
