Wall Of Wheelie Bins Used To Lure Stray Croc Back Into Water, ‘Cos Straya

There’s no better way to kick off a new year than with a uniquely ‘Strayan yarn, and boy do we have a little ripper.

Resourceful locals from the far-north Queensland town of Karumba attempted to lure a 3.8m croc who was found sun baking in the yard of a local home back to the water’s edge with a wall of wheelie bins.
Their plan didn’t work – old mate wouldn’t budge from his comfy spot by the front gate – so QLD police were called in.
The croc was eventually boxed him in with hay bales and contained until Cairns wildlife experts arrived.
A forklift was used to lift him into a boat, after which he was moved to a local holding facility where he’ll wait out the searing temps before being relocated to a croc farm.
A true beaut tale, to be sure, but never forget this one.
