Come, loved ones. Let us gather around the fireplace and embrace, while everyone’s fave television personality/known smart person Waleed Aly gives another well-researched, well-reasoned, and well-spoken argument.
This time, he takes on fossil fuel subsidies and climate change.
Aly explains why FFS (an apt acronym) kinda hinder rather than help in the long run, and since we were named the 57th worst industrial country (out of 58) at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, we should now be choosing to do something about it.
One of the best moments of the video however, is when Aly addresses Andrew Bolt‘s incessant, factually-void howling about how global temperatures haven’t risen in 18 years:
“And let me nip this in the bud, Andrew Bolt, before you launch into your ‘the planet has stopped warming!’ line that you’ve been running for the last few years. This is Carl Meares – the guy whose graphs you keep using. We tracked him down! He has a message for you…”
