Victorians To Fight Pending Zombie Apocalypse With Nerf Guns

Forget camping in national parks or your favourite festival grounds, how does surviving in Victorian bushland for a week-long Nerf battle against flesh-easting zombies sound? And that’s not a rhetorical question!

Plans have recently been revealed for an upcoming 18+ camping trip to fight the imminent zombie apocalypse in a Tomorrow Where The War Began style war simulation.

Launched as an alternative to other zombie laser gaming experiences, the project is the BRRRAAAAAAIIIINSchild of Humans vs Zombies Melbourne, a collective who run zombie apolcalyse training and events (I know), and Nerfcore (the dudes who host Nerf gun warehouse parties).

Basically, at the start of the event there will be 10 “Alpha” Zombies. These flesh-eaters will spend the week-long trip infecting as many Human players as possible. Human players will not have access to antidotes or help from the outside wold, and must solely rely on their Nerf guns. At the end of the week, if there are more Human survivors than Zombies, the Humans will be declared the winners and will saved by a military squad. If, however, the Zombies are larger in number than the Humans, the entire city will unfortunately be purged.

The organisers have taken to the crowdfunding site Pozible to raise enough money over the next few months to make the event a reality. Organising public liability insurance, camping grounds, and other general expenses (i.e. litres of fake blood and guts to create characters like this guy) can get pretty pricey.

If you have any doubts about Nerf weapons’ capacity for creating fucking awesome simulation warfare please observe the following footage and be proven wrong:
