Victorian Police Rescue Rogue Echidna After Pointed Standoff

Have you ever seen a sad echidna? No?

Well, now you have. Sorry to put you through that.
Luckily, Victorian Police Constable Bramley and her partner attended to this scene earlier today after finding the wild echidna nuzzled against a wall at University Hill Shopping Centre. After using some “unusual operational tactics involving gently jemmying the echidna out of the corner with a baton,” Bramley was able to release the marsupial into nearby parkland.

In the ~super serious~ police report, the echidna – whose name is Enrique, natch – is speculated to have crossed several busy roads on his way to the shops, and has been “warned against jaywalking in the future.”

Justice at work.
