Jonathan Dick was arrested on Hosier Lane in the CBD just after 7.50am on Monday after an alleged assault involving three people.

“The exact circumstances leading up to the incident are yet to be determined, however police believe at least one of the men is known to Jonathan Dick,” police said in a statement.

The 41-year-old has since been taken to hospital under police guard.

Police have been searching for the man since his brother, David Dick, was killed with a sword at Westfield Doncaster on February 3, 2017.

In October of last year, Victoria Police announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to Dick’s capture.

At the time, authorities said they believed the man was “hiding in plain sight” since the incident, and was considered one of Australia’s most wanted fugitives.

He is also wanted over the attack of an old friend with a hammer in Keilor on August 23, 2018. The attack was non-fatal.
