NSW Health has released an apology after admitting to giving Minister Victor Dominello the wrong health advice, and honestly are they okay???

In yet more contact-tracing chaos, NSW Health has issues an apology to Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello after giving him incorrect advice that allowed him to leave quarantine – despite being a close contact.

Dominello was initially exposed to COVID-19 by Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall who tested positive. NSW Health told Dominello that he was a casual contact, despite being in proximity to Marshall in the Chamber on Tuesday, 22 June, and that he only needed to isolate until he received a negative test.

Dominello tested negative, and with permission from NSW Health, left isolation on Saturday 26th June – only to be called back this afternoon and placed back in isolation after the correction that he is, in fact, a close contact. He’s supposed to remain isolated until July 6th.

Dominello appeared at a press conference earlier today alongside Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Health Minister Brad Hazzard and chief health officer Kerry Chant, which obviously pissed off other MPs that are in isolation for the same reasons Dominello was supposed to be.

The dramatic turn off events came just after Deputy Premier John Barilaro slammed out NSW Health for somehow down-grading Victor Dominello from a close contact to a casual contact, since that’s not really a thing.

This is the third time NSW Health has made an error this week, mixing up two venues earlier, and then incorrectly naming Sydney’s T2 Domestic Terminal food court an exposure site when it wasn’t one.

Paired with Scott Morrison announcing new vaccine rules on Monday that blind-sided basically everyone, and the shit-show of a presser on Wednesday that saw State MPs ready to go to war with the Commonwealth, I have to ask – what the actual fuck is going on???
