The man whose brutal teeth-to-face assault prompted fears of an imminent Zombie Apocalypse has undergone multiple surgeries and is recovering well according to reports.
After police freed Miami man Ronald Poppo from the attacker who was literally eating his face he was immediately admitted to Miami’s Memorial Hospital but the damage was such that, according to plastic surgeon Dr Wrood Kassira, “you couldn’t really make out his identity or what his facial features were.”
Doctors are hoping further procedures will give Poppo some semblance of a face, despite the likelihood he will not regain his sight. In the attack “the left eye was essentially destroyed and needed to be removed,” said Kassira.
